Soft Tissue & Recovery

Cupping Therapy

Decompression therapy that lifts and separates restricted tissue to release tension, improve circulation, and restore easier movement.

Most hands-on therapy compresses tissue. Cupping does the opposite: gentle suction lifts skin, fascia, and muscle away from the layers beneath, creating space where tissue has become stuck.

That decompression can reduce tightness quickly, which is why we often use it before corrective exercise or acupuncture — the tissue responds better once it can glide again.

How we use it

  • Stationary cups over areas of dense, guarded muscle
  • Sliding or moving cupping along broader tissue planes
  • Cupping with active movement to restore gliding and range
  • Applied as part of a treatment plan, not as a standalone routine

About the marks

Circular discoloration is common and is not a bruise from impact. It typically fades within a few days to a week and tends to be lighter as tissue quality improves over a course of care.

Who it helps

Patients with chronic neck, shoulder, and back tension, athletes managing training load, and injury patients whose tissue has become stiff and protective after an accident or surgery.
